From Theatre to Film with Jeremy Walmsley

In this workshop, Jeremy looks to share his Acting experience with transitioning from Theatre to Film and how to move back and forth between both mediums. Participants will
be introduced to practical exercises and film acting techniques which will be test-driven in the workshops. As a seasoned performer on stage who has transitioned to
be a sought-after film actor, Jeremy can offer first-hand advice for the “best practices” of using your theatre skills on camera.
Acting for Camera with Markian Tarasiuk
February 17, 2022 – 7:30-9:00 pm/Adult (ages 18+)
Markian will be introducing you to the “do’s and don’ts” of live film auditions and self-tapes for television and film. All participants will have an opportunity to prepare sides (scenes) and participate in a mock audition online.

UM Homecoming Show
On September 25th, I had the great privilege of creating the 1/2 time show for the Bisons’ Home Opener at IG Field. Featuring Jeremy Koz and his band – Deep Dark Cave, a cast of over 100 performers breakdanced, tumbled and strutted their stuff for an enthusiastic crowd. Many thx to my partner in crime – Natalie Sluis, the Blue Bomber Cheer Squad, Monica Goermann’s Momentum gymnasts and my terrific squad of dance performers. And of course a BIG SHOUT-OUT to U of M’s Stacy Wyatt for giving me the opportunity to make it all happen!!
Time Cut Choreography
I’m extremely excited to be working as choreographer on Ace Entertainment’s production of Time Cut, the latest in our province’s successful run of horror flicks. My experience as “Flashmob Queen of Manitoba” scored me the role and the opportunity to work with 11 of Manitoba’s finest dancers. We’re all set to bring this scene to life in July!
Summer StudioWorks 2021
We are currently hosting auditions for acceptance into the 2021 StudioWorks Academy Summer Musical Theatre Intensive. The five-day program offers classes in triple threat technique (acting, singing & dance) led by Manitoba’s most experienced theatre specialists. The in person program is being hosted at Drop-In Dance and all participants will have an opportunity to perform in the Manitoba 150 Concert on Saturday, August 28th at the Manitoba Legislative grounds….Not to be Missed!!

Our StudioWorks Sr. Academy has been working diligently since September on the incredible Joe Iconis/Joe Tracz musical – Be More Chill. This project has truly been a labour of love. We have had to navigate a myriad of obstacles and life events which has brought our company of emerging artists even closer together. I am so proud of what we have accomplished thus far, not only with our production, but with the generous and loving spirits which have emerged en masse. Our hearts and spirits are still reeling at the loss of one of our dear cast members, Amélie Barreto-Labossière but we are ‘doing her proud” with the virtual production we are about to share with everyone on June 24th!
