SpongeBob Spectacular Bubble Mania
WST StudioWorks Academy were proud to be part of the Skills Canada Opening Ceremonies hosted on Treaty 1 Territory on Saturday, May 26th. Thanks to Patrick Roberge Productions (PRP) from Vancouver for inviting us to be featured at this amazing national event. Our group of 30 performers were part of the “Hype Squad” welcoming Skills competitors from across the country to Manitoba. Congrats to all the delegates and a special shout-out tp host Hailey Witt, (my mentee) and Louis-Felix Fontaine.

Summer StudioWorks Academy
Winnipeg Studio Theatre’s Summer StudioWorks is a musical theatre program offering training in “triple threat” technique: acting, singing and dance to students ages 10 and up. Since its inception in 2004, Director Brenda Gorlick has amassed the finest roster of Manitoban musical theatre specialists. Program offerings include: vocal masterclasses, dance technique, mock auditions, original and show choreography, singing and songwriting, scene work, playwrighting, improvisation, voiceover technique, cabaret work, music interpretation, and more. The weeklong program runs from 9:30 – 4:30 pm daily culminating with a final showcase presentation. We welcome students from across Canada to attend.
Fee for the week: $400.00*
Earlybird fee: $350.00 by May 31st
*Bursaries available based on merit and/or financial need.
We accept up to 24 students into the summer program on a 1st come, 1st served basis. There is an audition process which is more for placement than acceptance and may be arranged at a mutually agreed upon time either in person or virtually. Requirements include a brief song of choice and a short acting scene (supplied by Brenda).

WINNIPEG STUDIO THEATRE RETURNS TO THE STAGE – MARCH 31 – APRIL 8TH
Now under the new leadership of local performer and director Erin McGrath, Winnipeg Studio Theatre is returning to the stage with FAME the musical.
Set in New York’s High School for the Performing Arts in the 1980s, this iconic show follows the journey of aspiring stars as ambition, triumph, heartache and romance conspire to steer them all off course but these artists are determined to “live forever”.

The StudioWorks Academy program is specifically geared to students who wish to improve their skill level in musical theatre and performance technique There are TWO Divisions: Intermediate and Senior Academy.
Senior Academy Thursday evenings from 6:00-9:00 pm at the Chai Ensemble Studio on Notre Dame Enrolment maximum of 22 students Entry by audition only!
– The teaching team consists of: Brenda Gorlick – Director, Charlotte Thompson – Asst. Director and Rachel Cameron – Music Director.
– The 32 week, 90 hr. + program annual fee is $1500.00 (paid in two instalments) or an early bird rate – $1400.00 (if paid on or before August 31st)
NEW THIS SEASON!! Intermediate Academy
Tuesday evenings from 6-8 pm for students ages 10 and up who have a limited background in “triple threat” technique but have experience in acting, singing and/or dance.
Enrolment maximum of 16 students Entry by audition only!
– The program is led by seasoned instructor, Laura Kolisnyk.
– The 32 week, 65 hr. + program annual fee is $1200.00 (paid in two instalments) or an early bird rate – $1100.00 (if paid on or before August 31st)
Training in both programs consists of vocal work, movement and dance components and script work leading up to a fully produced book musical in late May. Special guest directors and instructors are introduced throughout the season including Winnipeg Studio Theatre’s Artistic Director – Erin McGrath and former alumni who have entered the professional performance world.
