AIM 4 ALL is now accepting submissions from anyone age 14+ who is passionate about performing arts and musical theatre
AUDITION DATES/TIMES:
Saturday, February 1st 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Churchill Park United Church (525 Beresford Avenue);
OR Saturday, February 8th 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Churchill Park United Church (525 Beresford Avenue)
In-person auditions are being held in one-hour time slots between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm
You will be placed in small groups upon registration

– You are not required to prepare anything as materials will be shared at the audition
– We are also happy to see a song, or dance, or short monologue of your choice if you prefer
– Please bring backing tracks; we will provide a playback system
– If unable to attend an in-person audition, we will be accepting video submissions which should include a performance piece of your choice

We are excited to announce our AIM 4 ALL – All Abilities training program in Musical Theatre. Our pilot program aims to address the lack of inclusive performing arts programs in our community, creating a safe and nurturing space where creativity and diversity can flourish.
★Led by professional performers and instructors, Brenda Gorlick, Lois Brothers and Laura Kolisnyk, the Spring Break training camp runs daily March 31- April 4th – 10 am – 3:30 pm. we are accepting up to 16 participants.
★ The weekly session will culminate with a showcase celebrating our learning.
★ The program is designed for anyone aged 14+ who is passionate about performing arts and musical theatre.
★ Acceptance is based on an application and audition process. To be considered, please send a brief cover letter telling us about yourself and a photo/resume highlighting any applicable experience in performing arts.
★ In person auditions will be held in January; we will also be accepting online submissions.
★ Our AIM 4 ALL pilot project has been sponsored by the Manitoba Arts Council’s Community Outreach program. Our goal is two create a year-round training program and production company producing all-inclusive musicals.
★ Fee for the weeklong program is $349.00

What began as Brenda Gorlick’s YoungStars 20 years ago evolved quickly into StudioWorks Academy- the training wing of Winnipeg StudioTheatre. As the originator and director of the program, I am proud of the legacy that the program has achieved. It has been a driving force in the development of young (and older) talent, both onstage and behind the scenes, a strong community participant in local and international events and a rich template for other successful programs. Through the commitment of so many artistic associates, students, parents, volunteers, board members and creative team members, I have always marvelled at the quality and calibre of our productions, performances and special events. Thank-you to our alumni and to YOU, our many supporters who have shared the past twenty years with us. Onward and upward!

Winnipeg Studio Theatre’s Summer StudioWorks is a musical theatre program offering training in the “triple threat” technique of acting, singing, and dancing to students ages 10 & up.
Guest instructors include: Andrea Macasaet – SIX on Broadway/Ma-Buhay @ Rainbow Stage, Connor Coughlin – Christmas Spectacular with the Radio City Rockettes, and Chase Winnicky – RMTC’s Into the Woods and Beautiful.
Program offerings include vocal masterclasses, dance technique, mock auditions, original & show choreography, singing, scene work, improvisation, music interpretation, and more! The weeklong program runs from 9:30 – 4:30 pm daily culminating with a final showcase presentation.
We accept up to 24 students into the summer program through a brief placement process and may be arranged by contacting Brenda Gorlick directly.
NEW THIS YEAR: Special outing to Rainbow Stage’s world premiere of Ma-buhay (Optional)
Regular Weekly Fee: $400.00
Earlybird Weekly Fee: $350.00 by May 31st, 2024
Daily rate: $100.00

I am pleased to announce our 20th Anniversary Production of James and the Giant Peach Jr. from May 22-25th. Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, the musical production is a brand new take on this “masterpeach” of a tale. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score by songwriting duo Pasek & Paul, and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic. Fun for the whole family (ages 4-104)!!
