My spouse Victor and I had the best 2nd, (or was it 3rd, after Mexico and Victoria, B.C.) honeymoon in October. Portugal, one of our top bucket list countries, proved to be everything it was hyped up to be and more… We followed the sun from Lisbon, south to the Algarve region and back up to Porto where we imbibed in…you guessed it…Port! The country, the people and the food were all spectacular; life memories have been made and friendships formed. Obrigado Portugal!

For the second annual summer, I became a “camper” in the SMV (School for Music Vocations) Vocal Jazz Camp. Under the direction of Dr. Jeremy Fox, (head of the Creston, Iowa school), I spent 12 hour days working on solo and choral vocal jazz technique in the company of like-minded students, colleagues and instructors from Manitoba and beyond. The program is designed to inspire and challenge all participants at a level for which they are suited as well as serve as a positive influence to achieve their own “personal best”. The music selections range from vocal jazz standards to contemporary selections, including original works which have been primarily arranged by Jeremy and/or his team. Fantastic program and outstanding learning experience!!

The brainchild of Nicola Baldwin & Miles Crossman & , this indie short garnered me my very 1st feature in a “swing dance” based scenario opposite the uber -talented Genie Baffoe. Opening Day was a dream!

Winnipeg Fringe Festival saw the premiere of a fabulous new youth musical – Journey to Kalcedon Island: A Steampunk Musical by Joseph Aragon & Heather Madill. It was my pleasure to create the choreography along with my mentee, Melissa Langdon. Nominated for best original script, the musical played to near sellout crowds and is going to be revived this winter at Sisler High School under the direction of Leith Clark
